Anstie and Van Horebeek seek new MXGP rides

Two of the top MXGP riders are without rides for 2019 as both have revealed they are to split with their current teams. For Anstie, who dominated the Motocross of Nations last year, it’s been a tough season as he’s had to battle through injuries but he has had podium results. But he has revealed he’s being let go from his Husqvarna factory contract at the end of the season.

He’s been with Husky in his whole MXGP career but it’s thought the Ice One squad may be looking at Armenas Jasikonis as a potential replacement. It’s thought Anstie is having talks with Honda to join Tim Gajser at HRC. Gajser’s team-mate Brian Bogers got injured before the season and has yet to start a single race.

Yamaha man Jeremy Van Horebeek has also confirmed he will no longer be at the factory Yamaha team in 2019. He finished second in the world on the bike but has had a couple of tough seasons in recent years. It’s believed he might be replaced at the official team by Jeremy Seewer who currently rides for the satellite Wilvo Yamaha team alongside Shaun Simpson.
