Arenacross targets next-generation riders

The team behind the Arenacross Tour has launched a ground-breaking initiative which aims to get children from as young as five years of age out and about riding motorcycles. In an exclusive deal with well-established Czech electric bike manufacturer Kuberg, a limited-edition range of AX branded bikes; AX Start, AX Cross and AX Pro will be produced in stunning green and black livery. A full Dan-Whitby-AX replica set of riding kit will be included as part of a comprehensive package, giving aspirational young wannabe racers, or leisure riders, the full AX Pro look.

The machines will be launched at the huge motorcycle industry exhibition Motorcycle Live and will be available for sale at events and on-line. There will be three levels of AX Packs, each tailored to suit the experience and style of riding required by the young rider. Each AX Pack will include; a machine – Start, Cross or Pro – full set of AX head-to-toe riding kit, an AX junior licence, personal accident insurance, family ticket to an AX round of choice and free membership to the AX Cross Club.

And, if that’s not enough, there’s a very real opportunity for the AX Start/Cross/Pro riders to take their riding to the next level. The AX team, with backing from the MC Federation, will provide the families of AX-machine riders the chance to try out their child’s talent and riding skills against others in a tame electric-bike race series at high-profile, massive-crowd-drawing events around the UK, such as Goodwood Festival of Speed, Carfest North and South and the Bolesworth International Horse Show. The top 12 from these set of ‘qualifiers’ will then be invited to take part in the first-ever AX National Youth Electric Bike Championship.

Commenting on his company’s new scheme, Arena Sports Live CEO Matt Bates said; “Arenacross undoubtedly introduces thousands of new young families to the sport of Motocross – and our statistics tell us that 23 per cent of those new people would consider buying their child a bike. However, I believe that if that family walks in to a motocross dealership, the majority of them would be scared off by the price and seemingly scary nature of turning up at their first practice track or club event. Our plan is to strip this right back to the basics and get people riding in their gardens at a fraction of the cost and then steadily introduce them to the sport in a far more safe and friendly way. We’re fortunate enough that our business allows us to work so closely with events such as Goodwood Festival of Speed, Carfest and Motorcycle Live – and these are the perfect platform for our new riders to start their love for two-wheels.”

Michael Kubanek, founder of Kuberg added; “Partnering with Arenacross is a huge honour for us. Arenacross has fantastic plans to bring fresh blood into motorsport, which will massively benefit the whole industry. We want to thank them for the opportunity to be part of this exciting venture. Novice riders can now taste the world of racing in a very affordable and safe way on AX exclusive addition Kuberg electric bikes. We’re thrilled to be able to showcase our X-Force Pro50 series and demonstrate its capabilities. Electric bikes are the future of the automotive industry and we are happy to be in it from the beginning.”

The new AX electric range will initially be available for sale at Motorcycle Live, which kicks off on Saturday the 18th of November and runs through to Sunday the 26th of November 2017. The AX crew are building two bespoke starter tracks within the AX area at Motorcycle Live, providing the novice rider with the opportunity to try on the kit, test the bikes and meet FMX’er-extraordinaire Dan Whitby, who just happens to be an AX ambassador.

Start-up packages are expected to be priced from a modest £1250.00.
