Brown takes 40+ win in World Vet

Even though he’s 50 years old, Mike Brown took a double win in the over-40 class in day one of the World Vet championship at Glen Helen in California. Second was Kris Keefer while former Supercross king Jeremy McGrath took third overall.

Brown also raced in the over-30 125 pro class and finished second with 1-2 finishes. Sean Collier went 2-1 for the overall while Ryan Morais was third.

Brit Kurt Nicoll took the over-50 win. In the over-60 class, Pete Murray won from Andy Jefferson who was the first black pro motocrosser in the USA. He used to race for Pro Circuit Husqvarna in the early 1980s.

Former AMA champion Gary Jones dominated the over-70 class while Chuck Koistra won the over 80s in a race that included former GP rider Lars Larsson and Jim O’Neal, founder of O’Neal clothing. The racing continues on Sunday.
