Fast women to clash at Brookthorpe

After a very well supported and exciting round of the 2018 Westermans BWMA British Women’s Motocross Championship at Bushton, the young Ladies move onto the superb Brookthorpe circuit for round three this coming Sunday, May 13th. Following the cancellation of the proposed opening contest at Grittenham on Easter weekend, Bushton effectively became the first clash of the new season with a great entry of 26 girls supporting the Elite class.

After six super moto’s overall victory went to Redline Honda rider Chelsea Gowland who was first past the chequered flag on no more than five occasions. Chelsea only defeat was inflicted by the fast Amie Goodlad whilst the holeshot Queen for the weekend was undoubtedly Leonni Tighe. Those fast starts helped Leonni take 3rd overall behind Chelsea and Amie. Starting their respective new 2018 BWMA campaigns in style, Marni Saunders, Ellie Sleightholm, Nadiya Jones, Catherine King, Charlotte Lilly-Hall, Eleanor Calby and Kayleigh Durston complete the early top ten in the Championship standings. The Bushton results meant that Chelsea leads the title race by 28 points from Goodlad but they could have a new challenger this weekend. After missing Bushton due to injury, the 2017 BWMA Champion Beth Farmer is hoping to be in action at Brookthorpe!

In the new Girls Youth class, Elisha Elliott travels to Brookthorpe boasting an unbeaten score after the opening round at Bushton.
