Herlings does AMA double as Tomac takes title

Jeffrey Herlings proved he was the fastest rider on the planet after winning both motos in the final AMA National of the year, while Eli Tomac crusied to a safe championship win.

Herlings was fastest in both qualifying races and won both motos. In the first, he led after two corners. Tomac crashed while challenging him. Marvin Musquin chased hard but was five seconds back at the flag with Blake Baggett third.

Race two saw Herlings taken down on the first lap and start second to last. He put on a stunning ride, passing every rider on the track in a truly heroic ride.

With two laps to go, he took second away from Blake Baggett but leader Musquin was ten seconds in front. It seemed he’s have to settle for second.

But Musqin fell, allowing Herlings through. And although the Frenchman gave chase, Herlings took a double win in his AMA debut!
