Honda men rule UK Straight Rhythm

Former US Supercross riders Adam Chatfield and Steven Clarke dominated the 450 and 250 classes in the UK’s own Straight Rhythm on Saturday night, at the MX Nationals at Cusses Gorse.

Honda rider Chatfield beat Jack Brunell to win the 450 final, while Joe Claytoin was third. In the 250s, Clarke took it down to the wire to beat Matt Bayliss to the win. Joel Rizzi was third.

Yamaha’s Taylor Hammel went down in one of his heats and retired from the event. It’s not known if he is injured, or will start tomorrow’s MX Nationals race. At the last round, he took his first MX2 race win and ended up on the podium.

Carlton Husband and Dylan Woodcock also had big crashes but are not thought to have been seriously injured. Lots of top riders didn’t make ti through to the finals, including Evgeny Bobryshev, Josh Spinks and Scott Elderfield, making a race return after a long retirement.
