KTM and Husky out of Dirt Bike Show

KTM and its sister brand Husqvarna have announced they won’t be exhibiting at the Dirt Bike Show at Stoneleigh on November 1-4 this year. It’s a major blow for the show as the Austrian brands have had huge stands and brought in top riders like Tony Cairoli and Jeffrey Herlings.

KTM’s announcement reads:

As leader in all offroad motorcycle activities, KTM UK is proud of its leading position in the UK market and are dedicated to further strengthening the brand. As a race product, KTM machinery continues to prove itself by winning in MXGP, AMA Supercross, WESS and Rally races and championships. Advantages gained on track are directly integrated into production machinery, ensuring that customers can access the lightest, most powerful, most capable machines available. Every bike in the KTM 2019 range is proof of this, with press reaction astounded at the advances made in technology, engineering and sheer ridability of each bike in both the Motocross and Enduro sectors.
Having being released in early summer, the entire KTM 2019 offroad range is currently available in all Authorised Dealers, where customers can discuss every detail of each bike with the professional and authoritative staff in each KTM dealership. Given this, KTM’s presence in all forms of offroad racing, and significant coverage in traditional and social media channels, KTM UK has reviewed the way it communicates with its customers.
After careful consideration, and according to the brand values of KTM, a detailed assessment has been made regarding event and marketing activity for the remainder of 2018 and plans for 2019. The result of this is that KTM will not be present at the 2018 International Dirt Bike Show at Stoneleigh.
There are, however, great opportunities for fans and customers to see the 2019 ranges in both a dynamic and static environment. KTM will be attending the 2018 Weston Bike Race on 19-21 October with an extensive range of 2019 bikes on display, alongside UK race squads and dealer teams. The huge reach of this event, the crossover between Motocross and Enduro, and Weston’s direct correlation to the sport, means that KTM will be seen in the context of participation. KTM is a Ready to Race company, and proof of this is that six members of KTM UK staff will be racing at the event. Additionally, most of the offroad range will also be present at Motorcycle Live (17-25 November) and the MCN London Show (15-17 February), where offroad machinery will be displayed alongside the impressive Street range of KTM.
2019 will also see KTM irrepressibly active and highly visible in its core sporting markets. KTM will still have a great presence in the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship, and will be continuing their successful partnership with Judd Racing in the British Youth Nationals championship. Nurturing young talent is key to KTM’s future success and proves the performance of the product in the Youth sector. In Enduro, KTM can capitalise on the massive success of home grown heroes in the form of Jonny Walker and Paul Bolton in the WESS series. Further activities will be announced as KTM moves into 2019.
KTM is unequivocally committed to the offroad sector. Significant investment is being made by the company to further improve the product range, bolster the rich heritage of KTM and deliver to the customer machinery that enables riders to go further, faster. To this end, KTM UK are formulating strategies that support customers better, present products more dynamically and heighten the race-winning virtues of every machine in the range.
