Monticelli joins ASA GasGas

Ivo Monticelli has signed for ASA United GASGAS for the upcoming 2023 season. Focusing efforts on achieving the best possible results next year at British level (and select GPs), the addition of Ivo to the team is one that will seek to bolster our existing foundation and allow us to continue our fight at the sharp end of the pack in MX1. We are confident that Ivo’s presence, experience and speed will have a positive impact for both John and Bobby respectively as the year unfolds.

“2023 will be a big change for me, I will be racing the British Championship and only some GPs. I’m happy with the changes for the upcoming season and I am happy to be joining ASA United GASGAS. I’ve been impressed with the bike and feel comfortable straight away. I’ve only been in England for two weeks and the team has been amazing, all of the people involved have helped me settle quickly and create something familiar for me which is important. It’s a private team, but well equipped to have a good season.

I want to thank Lee [Tolan] for the opportunity, as well as Craig helping to facilitate the move. I hope together we can achieve some good results and have a great season.”

It goes without saying that we are very pleased to confirm Bobby Bruce and John Adamson will be staying with the team next year; 2022 certainly presented both riders with their share of adversities. Injuries and recovery periods prevented them both from having the best of seasons, yet through their trials and tribulations we remain optimistic heading into the winter months.

“Starting my second year with ASA United GASGAS and I’m already excited for the season to get underway. Lee has assembled a great team this year with an amazing atmosphere and energy within the team. We have all met each other and had a day riding along with some photos. Everyone gets along and it feels great to be a part of the team. We look to build on a good year last year and always keep improving.”

“Really happy to be with the team again for the 2023 season. Of course, this year [2022] didn’t go to plan with an injury, but I’m grateful for Lee for sticking behind me and believing in me year after year. Excited to get back riding and start a solid base for next year!”

Retrospectively, we would also like to draw attention to Jack Brunell’s performance at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium for the inaugural round of the WSX Championship; Jack’s speed impressed many British fans (and undoubtedly fans across the globe) during the three main events, demonstrating the pace to fight inside the top ten with some of the World’s best riders. We are happy to share that Jack will also continue representing ASA United GASGAS in 2023.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our sponsors for 2022 and those who are continuing to support us, as well as those jumping on board for 2023. We are extremely pleased with the team we have put together ahead of the upcoming season and look forward to getting back racing early next year.
