New National series and Matchams is back!

The legendary Matchams circuit is back along with a new three-round National championship thanks to an ambitious plan by the MCF for 2017.

The former GP track at Matchams is back for a one-off, pre-season event in Hampshire over the weekend of the 25th and 26th of February 2017. The Matchams Grand National will also cater for professional riders and teams, and so should be welcomed by all national motocrossers looking to get some valuable and competitive practice under their belts before the British and international racing season gets underway. A £10,000 Pro class prize fund should prove to be something of an incentive too.

There are a number of off-road national championships in the UK, but it is often the case that start lines become depleted mid-series when riders drop off the radar due to injury or lack of money. It is a struggle for them to commit to the traditional six or eight round championship and so the MCF has come up with the bright idea of a three-round national series to be called the MCF Triple Crown.

The Triple Crown will be a two-day meeting, staged once a month during the summer months, with five races across the weekend and a presentation after the last race on the Sunday. The venues are to be confirmed, but will be in the north, south and central England. The dates are June 17th/18th, July 15th/16th and August 12/13th

Anyone interested in entering these events, and becoming a member of the MCF, can do so at the Dirt Bike Show, Stoneleigh Park, which kicks off this Thursday 27th October or riders can register their interest now via www.mcfederation.com

The MCF currently has an introductory offer for clubs that get on board as an affiliated organiser, so if you are connected to a club looking to working with an association that will go the extra mile, or if you need help organising an event call Roy Barton or Gaynor Nash on 08454 750057 or email office@mcfederation.com
