No room for Pocock as ASA Husky signs Van Doninck

There is no room for Mel Pocock in the ASA United Husqvarna team as Brent Van Doninck has been signed to contest the MX1 class of the ACU British Motocross Championship, MX Nationals and selected rounds of the FIM World Motocross Championship. There is no news on any confirmed ride for Briton Pocock.

The bike ready to go for 2020

The 22-year-old Belgian Van Doninck has competed in the EMX250 class and the MX2 class of the FIM World Motocross Championship where he has collected multiple podium finishes and a season best of 10th in the MX2 world standings. Much like his team mate, Jörgen Matthias Talviku, this will be Van Doninck’s first time competing in a UK race series and will be joining an array of motocross talent in what looks to be a fiercely competitive British championship for 2020.

Brent Van Doninck will make his debut with ASA United Husqvarna at the Hawkstone International meeting on Sunday 9th February 2020.

Lee Tolan: Team Manager ASA United Husqvarna
“We were looking for a podium contender for MX1 to showcase the awesome Husqvarna FC 450 and in Brent we have certainly found one. His CV at world level is incredible and I was so happy to sign him. It’s a great result for our team and sponsors.”

Brent Van Doninck – Rider – ASA United Husqvarna
“I had to move to 450 this year because of the age limit, but I am more than ready for this challenge. I’m quite a big guy for a 250 and have been training with a 450, so I feel the big bike suits me much more. I’m looking forward to competing in the UK with ASA United Husqvarna as there’s a lot of talent in both series already and the UK has some great tracks. I’m also looking forward to showing myself in MXGP as I think I have good speed. Thank you to Lee Tolan for giving me this opportunity.”
