Motocross hero Ricky Johnson has revealed he’s tested positive for Covid-19 and is fighting the virus from his home in California.
“I have tested positive for Coronavirus and my message is that it’s not a death sentence,” said the 55-year-old. “It’s going to last for quite a long time.”
Johnson does not seem to have bad symptoms but admits he’ll feel worse as the weeks pass.
Johnson won seven AMA motocross and supercross titles in his career. After a nasty wrist injury, he was forced to retire age 26 when he had the most ever number of AMA supercross wins. He also led team USA to four Motocross des Nations wins.
Let’s hope he makes a full recovery and makes it to the Vets Nations again. He last appeared there in 2018 where we recorded this interview.
