Sad exit from GPs for Van Horebeek

This is not how Jeremy Van Horebeek wanted to end his season in the MXGP championship, trapped in Tim Gajser’s back wheel which caused the race to be red flagged.

Van Horebeek was stretchered off but after medical checks walked back to his camper. He announced he was going home and not racing the final GP of the year on Sunday. His wife is heavily pregnant with twins and he wants to be by her side.

It’s also his last race for the SR Honda team, which he joined two years ago but recently signed up Nathan Watson to race the French sand championship for them. If Van Horebeek can’t get a 2021 deal, being stretchered off could be a sad end to his GP career.
