Sheffield steels itself for AX action!

The penultimate round of the 2018 Power Maxed Arenacross Tour at the FlyDSA Sheffield Arena this Saturday the 10th of February, is set to be a powerful one as there is much to play for across each of the four AX classes, and not one rider can afford to be complacent.

The racing focus will undoubtedly centre around the Pro category, in which any one of the top 10 riders are in with a mathematical chance of winning the title. The round at Sheffield will play a vital part in the outcome of the championship; staying out of trouble and collecting points will be crucial but, as most AX followers know, when the AX gate drops, anything can happen.

On the home front, Sheffield fans will be treated to some local talent in the form of wildcard Declan Wright and new Miss AX, Nicole Etches. Ten-year-old Declan from Shiregreen is uber-excited as this is his first-ever Arenacross. He hasn’t even set foot on the track before. The Beck Primary School student is a regular racer, but outdoors, and he has a host of family and friends going to watch him on Saturday night.
Whilst she’s not being thrown into the thick of the racing, appearing at the FlyDSA Arena as Miss AX in front of thousands screaming fans is going to be equally as daunting for Etches. The 23-year-old took part in an selection process to become a 2018 Arenacross Girl and, after careful consideration, a panel of judges narrowed down the applications of hundreds of hopefuls to just two; one of which is Sheffield’s own Nicole. She’s sure to win the approval of her hometown crowd.

The sixth leg of the 2018 Power Maxed Arenacross Tour gets underway with a show opening ceremony at 7.30pm. A team of six internationally-acclaimed Freestyle motocross show-offs will then set the scene for the evening with a show of tricks, whips and flips, before the win-hungry racers burst onto the start line.

There are a range of different priced tickets now on sale, with child prices from £16, adults from £27 and family tickets from £78. Anyone looking for an incredible family night out in the gloomy month of February should visit www.arenacrossuk.com or call the Box Office on 0114 256 5656.
