They had never won the Nations before, but with Jeffrey Herlings moving up to the 450, Holland came within half a lap of taking the Motocross of Nations victory at Maggiora. It would have been the biggest upset for years, but proved just how good Herlings really is. Especially as the event was on hard-pack and as a sand specialist, he said he’d only ridden the factory 450 four times before.
