Spinks tops Apico 2-Stroke opener

The man who took runner-up place in the British EMX250 round at Matterley swopped to a two-stroke for the first time in more than a decade and took victory in all three races on his 150 KTM in day one of the Apico 2-Stroke Festival on Saturday.

Spinks and Burrows go side by side

Riding at the new Ironworks track in Middlesborough, Spinks didn’t get the best starts and battled with riders like Dan Arnold, Carlton Husband, Matt Burrows and Matt Moffatt to work his way to the front.

Husband throws in the style

On a track that was heavily watered in a bid to keep the dust down, the soaring temperatures and breeze dried the track out a lot. But it didn’t stop similarly dominant performances by Jack Grayshon in the 85 class, Barry Turnbull on his twin-shock Honda CR500 in the Evo and twin-shock class and Preston Williams in the 125s.

The 85s blast off

There’s two more races on Sunday to see who will be crowned and walk off with the prize money and lots of prizes from sponsors like Apico and Putoline.
