Surgery success for Albertson

Former factory Honda GP racer Jimmy Albertson is on the road to recovery after successful surgery following a nasty crash at the Daytona Supercross at the weekend. He posted a photo of himself after surgery and said: “Huge thanks to Dr. Khanna for doing such an awesome job on my surgery. I’ve never come out of surgery and felt immediately better. First step on the long journey to good health.”

Albertson injured his spine, lungs and sternum which was operated on. “Repairing my sternum was a big deal so I can start rehabilitation on my back.”

The Road2Recovery charity stepped in to help. “I have great health insurance and always have, but things like getting a medical flight home were just going to be out of our budget. It was hard for me to accept their help. I know there are other athletes in far worse situations than me. That being said, any money that is left after our medical expenses will be put towards a rider that needs the money ASAP!” said Albertson.
