Youth riders named for Kawasaki ride

Over 450 applications were made in 3 days for a spot on the Phoenix Tools Even Strokes Kawasaki youth team. Barry Moore, the team’s owner and manager spent the weekend sifting through applications from riders who sent a 2-paragraph email to a full-on CV and presentation.

There were some stand out applicants and it was very tough, however with the season approaching fast a decision needed to be made. So, 3 kids have been chosen based on a variety of factors from social media and promoting themselves and the team through to personality of the riders and parents when they were called up. The team required riders who were happy to switch from their current brand and switch over to Team Green Kawasaki and embrace the bike and the team’s ethos.

We’re super pleased to announce the first riders who will be on Phoenix Tools Even Strokes Kawasaki are:

Frankie  Anderson – KX65

At just 10 years old Frankie has only been riding for 14 months but has rapidly developed into a rising talent already. Frankie will be hoping to compete once again in the British Youth Nationals and other selected events in 2022.

Lucas Moncrieff – KX 85 SW

Lucas has just turned 11 and has a very exciting future ahead. Already winning national events in his rookie year in the small wheel 85 class, Lucas has spent a year already on the Even Strokes Race program. Lucas will turn his attention to the British Youth, MX Nationals and some ONK’s in the Netherlands.

Brandon Buckley – KX 85 BW

Our third and oldest member of the team is Brandon Buckley and he will be entering the 85BW class for his 2nd year. At 13 years old and already registering top 5 positions this could be an exciting year for Brandon after recovering from last years injury.

Now that the team have been announced the riders will be receiving their Team Green machines in the next few weeks and winter training begins.

The youth team already have a few exciting brands on board this year and today SAXX underwear confirmed their commitment to keep the whole team secure with their exciting underwear brand! More team sponsors will be announced over the next month, but the team are targeting brands inside and outside of motocross.

Team owner and Manager Barry Moore:

I have been completely blown away with the number of applications we recieved to work through over a 3-day period. Having an established team, the excitement of joining Team Green along with resources the team have available from our own track to train on and the pro riders coaching them it must be a kids dream. I believe we have selected 3 hard working kids with families that are positive and passionate that will gel well with our team values. It would be fantastic to see one of these riders end up in the professional ranks of our team in the future. We have one more announcement on the way regarding team personnel that we hope to communicate in the next few weeks.
