ACU meet to discuss Covid lockdown

Britain’s bikesport federation is to make an announcement in the next couple of days about a potential return to action, following yesterday’s Government relaxing of some lockdown rules. The ACU statement says:

The Prime Minister delivered an address to the nation on Sunday, 10th May in which he announced a ‘conditional plan’ to reopen society and unveiled a covid level alert system for England consisting of five levels as the coronavirus lockdown continues, then, on Monday, 11th May, ministers in Parliament will discuss the phased conditional plan in more detail.

The ACU Board of Directors will be holding another remote conference meeting on Tuesday, 12th May to review the current suspension of permits for events up to 31st May 2020, having received the latest government advice and will provide an updated statement on Wednesday 13th May.

Our intention is still to provide clear guidance to event organisers, clubs, venues, competitors and officials and we are conscious that organisations want to get events/competitions underway as soon as possible but these must be held in line with latest Government advice.
