Alessi hurt in hit-and-run bike crash

Mike Alessi was lucky to avoid serious injuries when he was the victim of a hit-and-run accident while out training on his bicycle. He was riding near his home in Florida when he was hit from behind by a pickup truck that failed to stop.

He was taken to hospital for head and arm injuries and was later released. He saisd: “I am home now. I have a huge cut and hematoma on the top of my head that required 10 staples. My elbow has stitches and my back/butt are covered in road rash. The driver was going approximately 70+ mph when the vehicle hit me. I am just so thankful to be alive right now. It was the scariest thing that has ever happened to me!”
