Injured Gifting out of Indonesia GP

Hitachi KTM fuelled by Milwaukee’s Isak Gifting will miss this weekend’s stop of the 2022 FIM Motocross World Championship, the Grand Prix of Indonesia, after sustaining a knee injury at the fifth round of the 2022 ACU British Championship.

Gifting suffered the knee injury whilst leading MX2 moto two – a race that he eventually went on to win – and is set to undergo further examinations in the coming days to determine a plan for the reminder of the current season, whilst also keeping an eye on next year.
Kay Karssemakers will be the Hitachi KTM fuelled by Milwaukee team’s sole representative at the Grand Prix of Indonesia, which takes place at the new circuit of Samota-Sumbawa. Karssemakers is eager to make further progress in his rookie MX2 term and edge closer to career-best results.

Bryan Connolly (Hitachi KTM fuelled by Milwaukee Team Manager): “It is a shame to be in Indonesia without Isak, especially after such a strong ride last weekend, but we want to make sure that the correct action is taken with his knee injury, whilst also keeping an eye on next year and what will be his second season with the team. We will keep everyone updated in the coming weeks.”
