Simpson, Strijbos and Cairoli all quit GPs tomorrow

Three legendary riders will contest their final MXGP races at Mantova tomorrow. Many people know Tony Cairoli is retiring. But former British champions and GP winners Kevin Strijbos and Shaun Simpson are also contesting their final GP races.

Simpson is set to race British championships next year, and the deal has already been done but not revealed yet. In the past two years he has been running his own KTM team but the pandemic and date clashes means it was a difficult time.

Strijbos, who was British champ for Hitachi KTM and a factory Suzuki rider, last won a GP at Lommel in 2016 on Suzuki. He’s now 36.
