A fair number of names have been mentioned on social media over the last 24 hours as to
who might be announced next for VMXdN Foxhill 2025. Finally, the wait is over, the former
FIM MX2 world champion and AMA SX Lites champion Ben Townley will race at the
“Woodstock of Two Strokes” at the iconic Wiltshire Grand Prix circuit over the August bank
holiday weekend, August 21- 24th.
Townley, who is very well-known in the UK and has many fans worldwide, is an asset to the
event, and he will be a guest on the American team (as he has raced in the States for many
years) to replace the sadly injured Mike Brown.
Who can forget the epic battles Townley had with Foxhill regular Ryan Villopoto when they
were both on the powerhouse Pro Circuit Kawasaki squad? Ashe is now a Yamaha brand
ambassador, and his son Levi is currently contracted to the bLU cRU, BT will be racing one
of the fleet of 2002 Yamaha YZ 250s that are presently being built by master bike builder
DocWob and his crew. The number 7 plate, initially assigned to Mike Brown, has been
retired for the 2025 event in respect. BT will run his familiar 101 on a Yamaha machine
featuring the 70th anniversary livery.
Fox clothing is currently producing a limited quantity of BT101 replica jerseys, which will be
available for purchase at the event merch stand. Additionally, BT will be on hand to sign and
take photographs throughout the weekend.
The VMXdN Foxhill in its four year history has firmly become the “must see” event on the
British MX calendar with crowds that buck the trend, the valley synonymous with the epic
duels of the 1990’s will come alive with the sound of forty perfectly tuned 2-strokes being
ridden by world championship level racers once again, with the enthusiastic crowd, air horns
and cheers it is a sight to behold.
A full program of events will be available from the gates opening on Thursday at midday,
with the hospitality, beer tent, and trade village all open for a mellow opening day to get set
up.
Friday is sign-on and tech control in the event marquee with the now famous Show’N’ Shine
bike show in the beer garden – an event which draws the crème of the evo scene to be
admired and respected. This is followed by an autograph signing session before the evening
program, which includes podcasts, rider interviews, and music.
Saturday is all business with practice and two races for all classes, the Yamaha autograph
session in their display area and another night of entertainment in the beer tent.
Sunday is another two full blocks of racing in the valley of dreams, the legends parade at
lunchtime and the ever-so-enthusiastic podium celebrations. Weekend campers are
welcome to stay on Sunday evening and make the most of it being a bank holiday Monday.
