There was scorching sunshine, torrential showers and even thunder and lightning, but it didn’t dampen the spirits of the all-new Apico 2-Stroke Festival as Arenacross expert Jack Brunell took his Yamaha YZ125 to a double race win in the combined 125 and Open-class Experts race.

And in the race for Evo, Super Evo and twin-shocks, former GP rider Brian Wheeler mastered the conditions to romp to an easy double win. The circuit, at Sellindge in Kent, is a mix of new-school sections and even some old-school sections that started the day off on grass. It was these slippery parts that caught out many of the riders.

The crowd lapped it up, as well as all the kit from Apico who displayed some restored bikes too. And there’s a beer tent, catering, and trade stands from Chester Motorcycles, Pro Green and 250 London. And ex-GP ace Jon Barfoot, who took two fifth places in the Evo race, manned the DJ booth in the beer tent!
