Fantic reveals all-new XXF 450

When Yamaha wheeled out its all-new 2023 YZ450F, it was a given that Fantic would follow suit within a few months as the Italian brand has the rights to make YZ and YZ-F racers and brand them as their own. And here it is, the new XXF450 based on the incredible new YZ450F that we tested last month.

Fantic says its R&D department has managed to completely renew the XXF450 in every compartment. The engine retains the inverted cylinder head style, for a direct, short and efficient front intake. This compact engine layout, combined with a cylinder inclined backwards, centralises the mass for agility and handling.

Where the bike differs is in the actual bodywork and some components, like the Arrow exhaust.  Fantic also claims that for the first time in motocross, the aerodynamic flow around the bike and the rider has been designed to optimise performance. The bodywork has large slits with winglets that maximise engine cooling.

Personalised engine maps can be set through the “WiGET” app . You can select one of the maps developed by Fantic  or create your own engine set-up according to the terrain and weather conditions. You can also read the bike’s hour meter, add service notes, read the diagnostics and view engine data in real time – all on your smartphone.

The XXF 450 boasts a new chassis and Kayaba suspension using the SSS (Speed Sensitive System) spring forks. The bike comes with tTraction Control and Launch Control by GET. The GET LC-GPA screen is on the mudguard to  manage starts and to display the different levels of traction control available. The ergonomics have also been developed by the factory team, with slim, uncluttered plastics offering maximum comfort and riding freedom.
