Farleigh Castle Vets changes hands

Since its inception in 2009, the Farleigh Castle vets event traditionally held in September has been a staple on the UK calendar, and for many riders it is the highlight of the year as the historic Wiltshire Grand Prix circuit comes alive with the sound of vintage two strokes.

Owners Brian Higgins and his partner Di Thompson of the West Devon Club have decided to sell the famous September event so they can start to enjoy retirement. After looking for a suitable team to move the event forward, Shaun Copeman who is the owner of SC Sporthomes Ltd has stepped up to buy it and has put an industry experienced team in place to ensure the success of the event for the foreseeable future.

Shaun has been in attendance as a rider, a sponsor, and a team manager at the event since the very first event 16 years ago – so is more than aware of the challenges ahead and plans on continuing the event in the same vein as in the past, though there will be some personal touches along the way to improve the racing.

The 2024 date which is now set to be September 13-15. Entries will be going live in their traditional slot in early February, with spectator and camping passes to be available online a week after.
