Conrad Mewse is set to start his racing season in the Arenacross World Tour in Wembley Arena on January 18th. Although he missed the first round last weekend after injuring his shoulder, he starts testing again this week and plans to give the Crendon Tru7 Honda its 2025 race debut in London. Mewse jetted to Redsands yesterday and is testing with his new 450 team-mate Jamie Carpenter.
It comes as his team, Crendon Tru7 Honda, reveals it will be partnered by top UK lubricant brand Rock Oil in 2025. The tie-up will also cover the popular Dave Thorpe Honda Off-Road Centre and the Honda Adventure Centre where the trail, enduro and adventure bikes will benefit from the huge range of lube and maintenance products made by Rock Oil.
For the racing team, Rock Oil will be a major technical partner to ensure the CRF450R machines raced by Conrad Mewse and Jamie Carpenter, and the CRF250R campaigned by Jake Nicholls, continue to push the limits of performance and reliability.
The British-made oil brand, which started a staggering 97 years ago, has been a long-time backer of motorcycle racing around the globe with British and world championships on the dirt as well as tarmac. Still run by the Hewitt family, Rock Oil is renowned for its technical excellence with its products developed in its own 10,000 square foot R&D centre in the UK.
Rock Oil will be giving the Crendon Tru7 Honda team a vital edge in performance by supplying a whole range of products, including Synthesis XRP Off-Road engine oil, Iced Kool coolant, Chain Lube and Chain Kleen, Dirt Blaster bio cleaner and Silicone Bike Shine.
Led by Dave Thorpe, Britain’s most successful motocross racer and a three-time 500cc world champion, the official Honda UK team will focus on the revamped and extended ACU British championship in 2025 where all three riders will compete.
Team owner Dave Thorpe said: “I’m thrilled that Rock Oil is once again on board with the Crendon Tru7 Honda team. I have a long history with Rock Oil going back more than 20 years and we know the products are simply excellent which will give us a real edge on the track and in the workshop.
“With our all-new 2025 Honda CRF machines, our in-house development department and team of talented mechanics, and now Rock Oil providing the very best products for the ultimate in performance and reliability, we are looking forward to a highly successful year.”
Greg Hewitt, Rock Oil Managing Director, said: “We’re beyond excited to reunite with David and the Crendon Tru7 Honda team. Having collaborated with him through much of his career — both as a rider and now in team management—we’ve consistently been impressed by his unwavering attention to detail and his superb professionalism. Our partnership with David and Crendon Tru7 Honda is key to demonstrating our technical expertise and ongoing dedication to performance and quality. Bring on the 2025 season!”
