BSMA winners pick up their KTM prizes

Four of the BSMA championship winners received their KTM motorcycles in a presentation handover at supplier AMS Motorcycles of Tweksbury. Auto winner Freddie Gardiner was presented with his 65cc bike as he will now be competing in the junior class and has already shown some great potential on the bigger bikes having been training on a 65 since winning the championship. Freddie will be keen to get off to a good start for the 2018 campaign but is sure to find things a lot tougher in the 65cc group.

Ethan Sills built on a steady first few rounds of the 2017 championship to come strong by round 3 and put in some great rides to become the SW champ, now moving up to the BW 85 class he was very happy to take crown and will be looking to follow it up with a strong attack on the BW class.

Vacating BW champion James Hanscomb very nearly had the ‘perfect season’ and never really looked in danger of being challenged for the top spot in the 85s but now being presented with a new challenge from being one of the older riders in the previous class to being one of the younger ones in the senior 125s.

Hanscomb will need to hit the ground running to stand any chance of making an attempt on this class as current defending champion Callum Beeken was also on hand to take delivery of his identical machine, Callum fast becoming one of the most successful BSMA riders of recent times having won the 2016 BW85 championship and now the 2017 Senior 125 title and he will undoubtedly come out swinging to complete a hat trick of championships in as many years.

The 2018 championship will be another hard fought campaign in all groups with many chances for new title contenders to make their mark with most classes being vacated by the previous champion. Anyone wishing to register for the championship can call Tracey O’Connor on 07436563264 to book in. Top tracks, well run and family friendly with 5 races held over the 2 days of racing this is the schoolboy championship that has set up some of Britain’s most successful riders over the last 30 years.
