How you can test a 2018 KTM enduro bike

KTM UK has announced dates for test days on its innovative 2018 EXC range. Beginning on September 1 until October 20, four dates in total are available and give enduro fans the opportunity to get behind the bars of ten models* from the Austrian manufacturer’s world-conquering range of machines, including the game-changing fuel-injected two-stroke 250 EXC TPI and 300 EXC TPI models.

The KTM EXC Test Days cost £50 per person and include two 20 minute sessions on two different bikes. Open to ages 18 and up, places are limited so riders are urged to act fast to take advantage of this ‘try before you buy’ experience on the 125 XC-W, 150 XC-W, 250 XC, 300 XC, 250 EXC TPI, 300 EXC TPI, 250 EXC-F Six Days, 350 EXC-F, 450 EXC-F and 500 EXC-F.
KTM continues to lead the market of competitive ‘Ready to Race’ Enduros. This is no accident: the diverse range of KTM bikes on offer provides great choice for everybody in the Enduro sector, both in the 2-stroke and 4-stroke format. Even though KTM only introduced a brand new EXC generation in 2017 completely re-designed from the ground up, the challenges never stop. This means research and development also never ceases and so KTM once again delivers the next revolutionary game-changer in competition off-road sports: the world’s first 2-stroke, off-road competition bikes with serial, electronic fuel injection.
Combining top performance and outstanding rideability, the KTM EXC TPI models with 250 and 300 cc of displacement will be distinguished by the lowest weight in their class, intuitive handling and a unique style. “TPI” stands for “transfer port injection” and once again demonstrates KTM’s unrelenting and continuous commitment to 2-stroke technology.
The benefits to owners are clear: besides huge improvements in fuel efficiency and clean exhaust emissions, the electronics do away with the need for re-jetting, no matter the elevation of the race venue or prevailing weather conditions. Also, engine lubrication on the TPI models is automatic from a separate oil tank and electronically controlled oil pump, removing the need for pre-mixing fuel and oil.
In parallel to the new injected 2-stroke bikes, KTM of course continues to develop its entire EXC range of competition Enduros. For the 2018 models, from the lightweight KTM 125 and 150 XC-W competition bikes to powerhouses like the 4-stroke KTM 450 and 500 EXC-F, updates include the WP Xplor 48 upside-down forks now feature new outer tubes for enhanced sensitivity and a new, slightly stiffer basic setup. Also fitted are new radiator protectors which are less sensitive against mud with increased self-cleaning.
The KTM Enduro line-up has the perfect range of choice for every level and experience of rider. To experience this first hand, please book your KTM EXC Test Day place by contacting our Experience partner Ady Smith at www.adysmith.co.uk or phone 01283 815520 or 07727 673112.
