Herlings picks up wrist injury

World MX2 champ Jeffrey Herlings is out of tomorrow’s opening Italian International race after hurting his wrist in pre-race testing near the track in Sardinia. Race organisers have revealed he has stretched a tendon in his wrist and has already gone back to Holland for treatment. Their release says:

“We are just few hours from the start of the first big event of the season, but the news in the paddock is of the absence of Jeffrey Herlings. The Dutch KTM factory rider suffered stretching of a wrist tendon during training in Sardinia. Back in Holland for it to be checked, doctors have advised him to rest, as a precaution.”
