Pootjes out of Mexico GP

Less than a week after he announced he’d would be racing in the Mexico GP, Dutch KTM ace Davy Pootjes has been forced to miss out the race due to his recently-injured shoulder.

“It’s painful. I need to rest two weeks more with my shoulder. Feels like the man above us is just testing me when I’m gonna give up. He’s close to that but I will never give up,” he posted on social media.

“Might be tough now and sometimes you just don’t know what you’ve done wrong but I believe if I keep working hard that one day everything will turn around and pay off!”

Dutchman Pootjes was thought to be following in the footspets of fellow Dutch sand ace Jeffrey Herlings but had a tough year in the factory KTM team so was relegated to the HSF satellite team for 2017. He crashed in the Argentina GP, injuring his shoulder.
