Shipton splits with Crescent Yamaha

Jake Shipton has announced he will no longer race for Crescent Yamaha in 2021. He’s currently taken a step back from racing this year in order to find a problem where he suffered with numb hands while riding.

Shipton said: “I’d like to thank the guys at Crescent motorcycles, the staff from retail and the WSBK team personnel for all their help and support for many years, I achieved my best results with the team.

“Paul Denning gave me the opportunity of a lifetime to race bikes for a living, and I’ll be forever grateful for that. Turning me from a chubby kid from Wareham racing club level to being fit and fighting for wins/podiums at the British Championship and travelling Europe.

“I’ve made many friends, had many laughs, highs and lows but Crescent/Yamaha have been there through it all. For that I can’t thank them enough. A friendship that will last a life time. 2021 will be a big change for me, super excited.”
