Strijbos and Covington out of Hawkstone

Two top GP riders are out of the Hawkstone Park International on February 11. Kevin Strijbos and Thomas Covington will be missing the event to recover from injuries.

Strijbos, who this year moved to KTM, fell and broke his collarbone this week. “Well, this just happened today. Crash and broken collarbone. Tomorrow morning is surgery in Belgium. Let’s hope it’s healed quick and that I am behind the gate in Argentina. Feeling really good on my KTM. Small setback but we will be back stronger,” he said.

American 21-year-old Covington is still recovering from knee surgery after damaging ligaments in the Motocross of Nations at Matterley. He will not be contesting any pre-GP season races as he’s still not fully fit, but this week started riding his factory Husqvarna 250 again.
