Watson Brothers square up on the sand!

By Dick Law. British MX2 champion Ben Watson will make his Yamaha debut and go head-to-head with his big brother Nathan this weekend at round three of the French sand racing championship at Saint Leger of Balson.

Ben will be making his first competitive outing on a 450 Kemea Yamaha, the team he will be riding for in next year motocross MX2 GPs. And although says it’s just training, once that gate drops you just know he will be going for it in the sand for three hours.

Both brothers love riding in the sand and are very good at it and although big brother Nathan has won both rounds so far at Berck and Loon Beach, the French federation didn’t give him his Berck points because he didn’t have a French licence at the time, something he has put right now.

One of our other sand specialists, Richard McKeown, will be trying to move up the championship leader board from his 16th position.
