Searle to contest 2019 British championship

Tommy Searle is set to contest the 2019 Maxxis British championship on a Kawasaki despite signing for the French-based BOS Kawasaki MXGP team.

Kawasaki UK are to back Searle’s bid to regain the title he lost to Graeme Irwin last season. This year Searle has had some wild card rides on the Dixon Kawasaki who are quitting the 450 class in 2o19.

It’s not yet known which bike he’ll ride in the UK, whether it’ll be his BOS GP machine or in a different UK squad.

This year Evgeny Bobryshev raced for BOS in MXGPs on a Suzuki but is contesting the UK series on a Lombard Express Suzuki for a UK team.

Bobryshev will stay with BOS next season but the team is making a switch to Kawasaki, so it’s not known if he’ll race in the UK.

BOS last week hired Jean-Jacques Lusietti who used to be the team boss of the CLS Kawasaki squad when Searle raced in the MX2 class.
