Top tracks named for MX Nationals

Six of the very best tracks in Britain have been named as the venues for the 2017 MX Nationals series which kicks off on March 4-5 at the all-weather venue of Fatcats. The press release from the organisers reads:

The Michelin Mx Nationals team are pleased to finally announce the six venues that will be hosting our events as part of the 2017 championship. We hope you like what we’ve got in place as we prepare for the fourth season of the series.

Paul Irwin MX Nationals director commented “Its not easy to find suitable venues for a series of this size, with over 280 riders expected at round 1, we need to not only consider the track itself, but the parking at that time of year, with all the possible weather scenarios that could be thrown at us, we think we have some great venues for 2017 and look forward to seeing you all in 8 weeks time at Fatcats”

At this point we would like to thank all the clubs and venues that we have spoken to in preparation for 2017 and i am sure we will be knocking on your door for the seasons ahead.

Round 1: March 4/5th Fatcat Moto Parc.

After our original plans had to change just prior to an announcement at the International Dirt bike show, the team have been working tirelessly to find a suitable venue to open this years series.

With many factors to consider we are happy to be able to visit Fatcats near Doncaster. The popular venue will undergo a layout change especially for our visit & being the opening National event of the year there’s plenty of parking space.

Round 2: April 1/2nd Preston Docks.

We return to the Docks again this year for Round 2 of the series. Lee McGarry & his team will ensure the track is prepared to the highest standards for 2 days action, let’s hope the weather plays nicely this year to show just how good the docks can be..

Round 3: May 6/7th Lyng.

A new venue for the Nationals as we visit Lyng for the first time.

This circuit has been a favourite for many British Championship riders over the years and we are really excited to get the opportunity to race here.

Many of you may have either raced or spectated at the Sandy track near Norwich, the venue has hosted both British Championships & Eastern Centre events. Thank you to the Norwich Viking Mx Club for allowing us to add another iconic venue to our schedule.

Round 4: June 10/11th Hawkstone Park.

We return to Shropshire & the legendary venue of Hawkstone Park for our annual visit. The venue always produces some fantastic racing at the home of the Hawkstone International. Hopefully we might even get to see the youth 85’s take on the famous Hawkstone Hill, like they did back in 2015.

Round 5: July 22/23rd Canada Heights.

Our annual visit to the home of the Sidcup Club, just off the M25 & a favourite of both spectators & racers alike. The track always produces some great racing on the hillside venue near Swanley.

Round 6: August 12/13th Foxhill.

After an absence of a year, the Nationals heads to Foxhills near Swindon for the Grand Finale of the 2017 campaign.

A fitting venue to see our champions crowned at the seasons conclusion, the steep hills, big jumps & fantastic viewing make it a fans favourite.

So that’s what we have planned, we hope you like what we have in store. 6 months, 6 events & just 8 weeks till round 1.
