Family-run British Motocross team CAB Screens Deos Honda, will be running 48MM Cone Valve Forks and the Trax Shock from WP Pro Components on their Honda CRF 450s in 2019 in both the Maxxis British Championship and Michelin MX Nationals.
Estonian Harri Kullas, who has signed for the team for 2019, requested to test WP Suspension on his CAB Screens Honda having previously used WP Pro Components earlier in his career. After pre-season testing with the team proved successful, Kullas team mate Dan Thornhill, who has been with the team for the past 4 years, will also be running WP Suspension for 2019. The team formed in 2012 by Lee and Ian Webber has always had the ethos to support and nurture young riders who have the potential to succeed. This ethos is the drive behind WP’s focus on delivering race winning performance in a wide range of competitive environments.
Both Kullas and Thornhill will be racing as ‘wildcards’ in select rounds of the FIM Motocross World Championship throughout the year including the British MXGP. Having already taken the top spot for the first round of the MX Nationals, the team will now head to FatCat Motoparc this weekend on Sunday 10th March in hope of a repeat performance for the first round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship.
Cab Screens boss Lee Webber said: “As a high-profile team looking to improve, it’s really important for us to work with the best in the industry. When the opportunity arose for us to team up with WP Suspension for 2019 it was something we couldn’t turn down even at this late stage and so close to the start of the season. Harri and Dan tested the WP Pro Component Suspension and were very impressed and we are looking forward to a successful partnership for years to come.”
WP’s Gareth Edmunds said: “One of the main objectives for WP Suspension in off road racing is to increase the awareness of its product range for Japanese brands. So no matter the motorcycle manufacturer, WP Suspension simply offers the best aftermarket suspension solution available. Being approached by Lee from the CAB Screens Deos Honda race team is a positive step for WP Suspension as he runs a very professional, National Championship team. Seeing Harri Kullas’ belief in our product was a real positive and Lee recognised the benefits of using WP Suspension to raise the level of his team. Dan Thornhill was given the option to test the suspension and instantly felt at home on the bike, confirming to the team that WP Suspension was the right direction to go in. We are delighted to be able to support the team and we wish them all the best for the 2019 season.”
