International aces target Skegness!

With the likes of French ace Miko Potisek, Nathan Parker, Dan Thornhill, James Hutchinson and triple victor Nathan Watson already on the roll of honour, you can rightly expect this weekend’s big AMCA Skegness Beach to be a very competitive affair! There’s a lovely £1,000 cheque awaiting the eventual winner with the action due to kick-off at 11.30am on Sunday morning.

This weekend marks the eighth consecutive year the beach bash as come to the East coast resort and it again promises to be another very spectacular event! And as always, the event remains totally FREE to spectate, providing plenty of thrill packed entertainment for the whole family from the safety of the recently refurbished Promenade and Pier

The event has gone from strength to strength and now attracts riders from far and wide as its reputation for being one of the toughest beach races in the U.K. has proved a strong draw for motocross and enduro riders alike. Over 300 riders are expected to descend on the coastal Town, ready to tackle the purpose built course consisting of massive jumps, bomb holes, whoops, sweeping corners, fast straights and of course not forgetting passing under Skegness pier!

The weekend kicks off on Saturday at 10.30am with a Clubman solo race of ninety minutes duration followed by a two hour combined Quads and Sidecars battle. Expected potential front runners in the Quads include 2016 winner Oliver Sansom, Anthony Barrett, Aaron Pole and Lindsey Duke. Then on Sunday it’s the big three-hour main solo contest with this year’s early entry list already including the likes of British Beachcross Champion Richard McKeown, Matt Burrows, Jake Edey, Ryan Staveley, Brad Thornhill, Ryan Crowder and James Wainwright who recently finished a superb 5th at Weston.

As usual, the AMCA will be working in conjunction with the Magna Vitae Trust for Leisure & Culture, East Lindsey District Council and East Lindsey Event Safety Advisory Group to ensure that the entire weekend is held in a manner that both compliments the town and also benefits the local economy by attracting people to Skegness during the closed season. The East Lindsey District Council have provided unwavering commitment to the Skegness Beach Moto-cross event right from day one, so it’s thanks to them, the towns people, local businesses and all the event sponsors for their ongoing backing which ensures the continuing success of this exciting event.
